EMC Disk Library for mainframe (DLm) enables IBM System z mainframe users to reduce or eliminate physical tapes from their mainframe data centers. DLm provides up to 1.2 PB of usable capacity and up to 1.2 GB/s of throughput, and can emulate up to 1,536 tape drives in one system.

DLm works seamlessly with existing mainframe applications, providing a high-capacity mainframe tape replacement solution with RAID 6 protection, hot spare disks, and enhanced disaster recovery using replication to one or more sites. Add optional deduplication to gain longer onsite retention, optimized replication, and lower overall storage cost for backup and archive applications.
